We are a newly formed team of dedicated volunteers passionate about our vision to create a community where one can age gracefully surrounded by like-minded seniors with Buddhist or compatible spiritual values.
We ourselves are middle-aged or older Buddhists who desire to live in a supportive community – especially as we traverse the last years of our life. We’ve had the discussions about how nice it would be to be able to eat, practice, walk and share as we grow old together and have control over the circumstances of our passing away. And now, we are on the road to making that a reality!
The Internal Revenue Service recently granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status to The Buddhist Home (TBH) as a public charity. This designation allows donors to take a tax deduction for charitable donations. Among other things, the IRS requires that TBH be non-discriminatory and open to all, have an affordability component, avoid overpaying our future employees, and maintain a conflict-of-interest policy.
